"Don’t Write Too Soon: The Critical Skill of Organizing Ideas"

Academic Writing Workshop Description

Believe it or not, you can write too soon when it comes to academic writing. Often, in the haste to meet deadlines, those in academia feel pressured to begin writing.

Unfortunately, the act of prematurely writing produces documents that are unclear, incoherent and illogical. This session helps scholarly writers develop a strategic, effective approach to research-based writing so that their ideas are expressed clearly and flow well.

Learning Objectives

  1. Learn the information that needs to be in place to start writing

  2. Pinpoint the questions to answer that help to organize ideas and research

  3. Develop a more effective approach to writing
